Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing exceptional customer service while facilitating communication between customers and the service department. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive repair processes and the ability to accurately estimate repair costs. Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, addressing their needs and concerns regarding vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Accurately assess customer issues by gathering information on vehicle performance and history.
  • Prepare detailed estimates for repairs, including parts, labor, and any additional services needed.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians to ensure clarity on repairs needed and timelines for completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, service orders, and vehicle history in the system.
  • Follow up with customers regarding their service experience and ensure satisfaction with completed work.
  • Promote additional services or products that may benefit the customer based on their vehicle's needs.
  • Stay updated on automotive trends, technologies, and best practices in order to provide knowledgeable recommendations.
Experience

  • Previous experience in a customer service or sales role is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with automotive repair processes, including auto estimating, air brake systems, auto body repair, and general vehicle maintenance is essential.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial to effectively communicate with both customers and technicians.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is required will be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • A background in mechanics or automotive technology will be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
